Sailor Tindall was discovered dead inside a luxury Battery Park City residential building Saturday, officials said.
A 41-year-old fashion student was discovered dead inside a luxury Battery Park City residential building Saturday after police were called to check up on the woman when her parents feared the worst, officials said.
A “wellness check” by cops on Saturday ended with police discovering the lifeless body of Sailor Tindall lying on a bed, her throat and both wrists slashed.
“Her parents hadn’t heard from her in a while, so they called on us to check on her,” a police source said.
Investigators were racing to determine if the gruesome death was suspicious, and one police source said investigators had yet to find a farewell note inside her sixth-floor apartment at the Liberty House, a doorman building on Rector Pl. where condos can fetch up to $ 1 million. No signs of a struggle were found, the source added.
Police found her in her sixth-floor apartment at the Liberty House, a doorman building on Rector Pl., after they were asked to check on her.
On Saturday, devastated friends laid bare their grief as city coroner’s office workers rolled Tindall’s body from the 25-story building. The women, who declined to identify themselves, were allowed a teary goodbye as the workers unzipped the body bag for a last look.
Attempts to reach Tindall’s family in Texas were unsuccessful Saturday night.
Police responding to the parents’ call for help found Tindall lying on her blood-stained bed around 5:30 p.m. A knife was found near the body, police sources said.
An autopsy is scheduled Sunday to determine the cause of death, police said.
Tindall is a graduate of Clear Creek High School in League City, Texas, and Blinn College and was studying fashion and design, according to her Classmates and LinkedIn pages.
She lived in Texas until at least 2011, but it was unclear when she moved to the Lower Manhattan luxury building.
Cops were continuing to investigate Tindall’s death Saturday night.
