Ron English fired for using ‘wholly inappropriate language,’ says Eastern Michgian

Head football coach Ron English was fired by Eastern Michigan on Friday afternoon after a poor 1-8 start to the season. The timing was surprising, considering EMU had a game against rival Western Michigan set for the next day — certainly a winnable game, considering the Broncos are also 1-8. Now we’re starting to learn more about the reason for the sudden exit.

As for the tape, Scott Roussel has heard it — Friday, he was expressing concern about its contents.

Since taking over at Eastern Michigan in 2009, English led Eagles to an 11-46 record. Six of those 11 wins came in 2011.
