Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald spent all week leading up to Week 6 as a big question mark as he dealt with a hamstring strain, then played Sunday and had his biggest yardage game of the season. As he continues to deal with the hamstring, Fitzgerald looks to continue that production Thursday night against the Seattle Seahawks.
Fitzgerald, who wasn’t even guaranteed of being active until Sunday afternoon, caught six passes for 117 yards Sunday, including a 75-yard touchdown that showed the team was right to have played him. On the season, he has 405 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
Fantasy impact: Without his 75-yard score, Fitzgerald would have been held to five receptions on 11 targets and only 42 yards Sunday, a much more pedestrian effort. That said, his touchdown came on a short pass, and he just outran the defense, a great sign for his hamstring health.
Fantasy owners who benched Fitzgerald after all the naysaying Sunday learned the hard way that super-studs like Fitzgerald pretty much have to be in the lineup if they are active (owners of Calvin Johnson learned the opposite lesson, but still). It doesn’t look like there is much worry that Fitzgerald will be inactive or particularly limited Thursday, so he should be back in lineups with few reservations Thursday night.
